Inspired by severa cold water swimming experiences on British beaches, and the invigorating, uplifting feeling once you are thoroughly dry again with a hot chocolate in hand!
Bold, expressive layers of paint capture movement and weather, with charcoal pen and oil pastel exploring texture and emotion. Spending time on Cornish and Devonish beaches all year round never fails to inspire me, and in this painting the looser style is based on the many sketches and moments captured from across the bay, in the sea and off the rocks.
Personally, much as I love a bracing in and out dip, I'm perfect;y happy to hold the bags and towels and sketch, not swim if it's not over 25 degrees!
